About Us

The Koolá™ Doll came about when baby Indie was struggling to sleep. Her mother Peta noticed how calm Indie was when she sang. This led Indie’s mother to research the benefits of a mother’s voice for the baby and then venture on a four year journey to develop the Koala Doll.

My new go to baby shower gift as this sleep aid really does work for getting our baby to sleep. I used the Koola before baby was born and sang her a song every day and when she was born she would stop crying and freeze when she heard the song playing. Absolutely brilliant and she loves the other songs I play the harp one in the day when she is playing with toys and I play the aboriginal song when she is in the bath and the sleep song is played 10 minutes before I give her the last feed and she knows it is almost time to sleep. I always play my song for her as she sleeps and am tempted to try the others because they are so nice to listen to but she is just so good with my recorded song that I don’t want to use anything else. I was a huge fan of the shusher machine and did not expect there to be a better baby sleep assistant product to change my mind. The science is all there and it makes sense why it works. I can't say enough good things about the Koola Doll! As a first-time mum, I was nervous about getting enough sleep, but the Koola Doll has made our little family’s first year a breeze. The ability to record our own voice and have it play all night has been the most special part of it all. I didn't have a clue about what the Koola Doll was when I put my hand up to become a beta tester! My singing voice is shocking to say the least so when the Koola arrived with the instructions I was stressing about the idea that the doll would play my voice singing over and over! I decided I would do it and hide it from everyone. Attachment parent here! When I saw you request for pregnant mums as betas for your sleep toy in the Natural Parent Magazine I almost didn’t apply as I am a co sleeping mum so I am my babies' comforter. Having a second on the way I thought it would be a good opportunity to get my baby to transition into his own room before my daughter arrived. I feel pretty special because when I spoke to you about my situation you kindly sent me 2 dolls so I could use one for my three year old son to transition into his own room and one for my daughter when she arrives. Instead of a song I chose to softly recite a short Waldorf poem my mother often recited to me. I turned it into a bit of a song and recited it many times throughout each day rubbing my stomach at the same time. After she was born I couldn’t wait to see if she responded to the poem but her response was priceless. She looked starry eyed into the Koola dolls eyes quiet as a button and I could see she fell in love with her first toy. I use the doll all of the time not just at night and it has gotten a bit dirty but it washes so well and the linen is strong. I try to use my song for her only when she is going to sleep but I use the other songs throughout the day. I am a big believer in the magic of sound frequencies and I am so happy to be able to expose her to these powerful vibrations and keep us all grounded. My son wasn’t as responsive to my poem as I hoped so I tried what you recommended about recording my partner's snoring and it worked perfectly for him. I believe he was more responsive to my partners snoring than my song because he heard this snoring all throughout my pregnancy. Our son Kai had his Koola since he was 2 months old. At first he didn't respond to the voice recording and was not interested in the doll. Each week I would try again and after 3 weeks something clicked in him and he became very attached. I almost gave up but luckily didn’t as we now have a very calm baby boy. We have had the Koola for a year now and he somehow seems to grow fonder of it by the day.

I am a huge fan of this product! It has been hard to keep my secret weapon quiet with my friends and family. Our first son was a nightmare with his sleep and everyone is asking me why our daughter is such a good sleeper and what are we doing differently. I have to say I think the best thing we ever did was singing to her while she was in my belly as the songs have got to be what forms that special bond with the doll. Finally a product that works and isn’t rubbish! I love the natural feel of the koala as it is different to all the other baby sleep toys we have purchased online. Everything else we have used previously was ugly, like a cartoon character. As a photographer I find this doll stunning to photograph with my daughter like a photo prop. I could see this doing well on Instagram with a family who has a neutral theme grid. My girl won't let it go either but I don’t mind because it is so beautiful. There is no doubt this toy will do very well.

Sleep time is calm and happy now since the Koola has entered our life. I prefer my voice singing my baby to sleep rather than a screechy white noise sound. No wonder it works so well. Those other white noise machines are horrible to listen to. The only other sleep toy I have used with my first 2 kids was the lulla doll and the sound that comes out of the white noise machine with the heart beat sound is like an old man about to die and to top it off the lulla doll is ugly as heck. We are grateful for becoming a beta tester for the Koola Doll. The first prototype was pretty perfect. When you upgraded the speaker to the last model it made a big difference to the quality of sound compared to all other baby sleep toys we have tried over the years. I can feel the base when any of the sounds are being played the Koola vibrates which I notice is really soothing for our child when he is calming down from a tantrum. Privileges to have been selected to try the Koola doll as it was being developed. We have had it for 2 years and my son Max is cuddling it as I write this. I love the song recording feature but I am obsessed with the Indigenous music and we both have a day nap together with it playing as we sleep so long! I feel very connected to the music and it takes me into a meditative state. When Max sleeps at night I use the sleep song as we have a lot of traffic on our street and it takes the edge off and he sleeps the longest with that. I will be recommending the Koola to all of my New Zealand mum friends when it is finished.

I love how I can set the timer to play my voice for short or long times. I have struggled to find a toy with a music box where I have a choice in playtimes. I was so happy when you added this to the sound box.

As a mother of two, I've tried my fair share of white noise, pink noise, and even brown noise machines for infants. The Koola Doll is hands down the best one I've ever used. The option to record our own song and have it play all night long has been a game-changer for us. The fact that it's also a cute and cuddly plush toy is just a bonus. Ten out of ten, I highly recommend this to any new parent out there.

As a mother and a midwife I can confidently tell anyone this device is a must! The way it works will blow your mind. This sleep toy is so advanced compared with everything else I have seen and I have seen it all come through the hospital. My first baby was gifted a competitors baby lovey with white noise, it was cute but it was in no way comparable to the Koola. And it was realistically just a plush toy, whereas the Koola is way more than a plush doll or lovey comforter with some sleep music. This doll has advanced technologies that not only help kids sleep but also help create emotional connections and improved brain development. When I return to work I will be requesting our NICU to have at least five dolls on hand to use in the unit.

My child isnt a baby she is 9 years old daughter has Autism and were selected to be beta testers as my girl has always struggled with sleeping. She has high anxiety and I wanted help with sleep but did not expect the doll to help beyond her sleep but it does. She is very connected with her Koola and holds it a lot throughout the day especially when she is worried about an activity we are going to or a change in her routine. She uses all of the sound options even the heart beat sound. The good thing too is she picks the song she wants to listen to. Or if she doesn't want any sounds she still carries it around and treats the doll like it is her best friend. Being a part of the beta group has given us access to this doll which we wouldn't have had otherwise so thank you for accepting us into your group.

Our baby was born two weeks before the Koola arrived for us to beta test. We didn’t know singing a song daily to my bump would benefit her after she was born so we missed out on that opportunity. When we first introduced the koala doll to her she was not responsive and she would even cry at it. But we introduced it later when she was 3 months old and her face lit up when she heard my voice being played and hasn’t gone back since. She is so happy and calm when any of the songs are played in the doll. She is almost 2 now and the poor doll has been dragged around everywhere she has been. It is still is very good condition once I wash it and comes up like new. I don’t know how much you will charge for this doll but I would pay anything - truly anything. I have 4 relatives who are pregnant and I want to buy a Koola doll for them before they give birth. Please hurry and make this product available for everyone! We have had the best sleep experience since the doll arrived. It is now a part of our family LOL. Kendal cuddles her Koola more than she cuddles me! This is a new mum or dad must have. Babies don't need heaps of stuff, they just need what works and what they love. We are minimalists so the Koola doll is exactly what we go for as it works and Jewels loves it. We have barely any toys. We did when she was first born but since she has had the Koola Doll it became her go to toy for all play based activities which is ideal for us as I was able to gift away all the junk dolls. We are so in love with the Koola baby sleep doll! The linen fabric is so gentle, and the gender-neutral tan colour is perfect for our nursery. The koala plush toy is so soft and cuddly, and the music box feature in the dolls back is fantastic. The Koola doll is a godsend! The plush toy is so adorable and soft, and the music box feature is well thought out. I cannot recommend the Koola Doll enough! The linen fabric different from all other infant sleep toys but it is still very snuggly and does not bother him. I find it more attractive than most baby toys. The music box is a game changer for his sleep even the 4 special songs you have put into the box they are more effective at relaxing him than all other pink noise and sound machines we have tried. My baby has been sleeping better than ever since we started using it. Hoping this great sleep continues.

The sleep song is a nice touch compared to white noise music. It is a natural thing for a baby to hear a mother sing rather than fake noises that are probably doing harm to their brains. The delta waves are also a smart addition to the music box as it makes both my baby and me sleepy!

We adore the Koola sleep toy. It has helped our family get on top of sleep and chilled our son out. We have twins and one was a good sleeper and the other was not good at all! He is very different emotionally to his brother. You sent us two dolls so they each had one which was great. Our good sleeper son sleeps with my husband in a different room to us. I co sleep with Gill and he loooves the singing to sleep sound. I run it all night for him but my other son he only needs it to help with the first part of his sleep. If he does get unsettled hub turns it on again and he goes back to sleep. We also have the volume super low so it is just able to be heard. It works a charm and we are very happy. 5 out of 5 from us.

My sister signed me up to be a beta tester and it was a sweet surprise. We played the songs to my baby while it was in my womb and also sang a couple of song as we couldn’t choose which one to record into the doll. It worked out well because I now my girl is born I can change the recorded song to any of the three songs and they all get her to sleep. If only I knew about the Koola doll sleep toy for my first four babies! What a difference life would have been. The idea to record my voice is genius. The difference of sleep between using your doll to using all of the most popular toys in the baby market is huge. The sound frequencies that are in the other song options is a great idea too and seemed to be more calming for my baby who is now 2 years old and still loves the toy more than all her others in her bedroom! Night times were a disaster before we had help from your baby sleep toy. I was at the end of my tether and did not think it would ever improve as I literally tried it all and read all recommended books and products. The koola saved my baby's sleep and both my husband's and my sleep too. I recorded my husband’s snoring and it worked so we just continued with that for the past year of our angel sleeping. She still wakes sometimes but only for things like a nappy change or if something is annoying her which I am not complaining about as that is normal.
